Hello,
Choosing the correct weight can be tricky. Up to a certain age you can do the 10% of body weight rule but when someone gets older we recommend going to the bowling center and finding a house ball and trying to hold it like you would in your stance. If you can hold it without using a lot of strength it is probably close to the correct weight. Also try throwing a bowling ball and whatever weight you can use in the house ball you usually can add 1 or 2lbs to it. When a ball is drilled properly it takes less muscle to hold and easier to guide in your swing.
