Same core, different cover. The original Evil Eye reads the midlane earlier and rolls smoothly. The Pearl's HK22C Pearl cover saves energy through the fronts, so it gets more length and makes a stronger, more angular move at the breakpoint. The two are meant as partners on medium to heavy oil, not as a replacement for one another.
