Hammer lists it for medium to heavy oil, and it is at its best on fresh, heavy oil. The coarse cover grabs the midlane early, so the ball gets into a strong roll instead of skidding too far. In the Hammer lineup it is the ball you start with on heavy volume, then move to the Effect line or a pearl for more length as the lane transitions.
