Hammer built it for medium to heavy oil and transition. The polished cover clears the front of the lane and saves energy for a strong, angular move off the friction. Keep it polished for maximum length when the lanes dry, or have your pro shop take the surface down with a lower-grit pad for an earlier, stronger read on more oil.
