Both use the RST Core + AI, so the cover is the difference. The sanded, solid RST Hyperdrive reads early on the freshest, heaviest oil, while the polished U-R1 Pearl clears the front of the lane more easily and makes a later, sharper move at the back end. It is the one to move to as the heads open up and the solid starts reading too early.
